3 Tips For Fat Loss

  1. Track Your Calories. Any successful diet includes knowing how many calories you are taking in. Tracking the food you eat takes you from a vague idea of your diet to objectively knowing exactly what you are consuming. At the end of the day you are either in a caloric deficit or a caloric surplus.

  2. Build Muscle With Resistance Training. The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism will be. Beyond the loss of fat there is an aesthetic component to having some muscle on your frame. You can't flex bone.

  3. Aerobic Conditioning. Aerobic conditioning as it relates to fat loss is best trained at a heart rate of roughly 60-80% of your maximum heart rate. Get most of your "cardio" in at this rate. Going above this rate will certainly feel harder and you'll burn calories, but not predominately from fat. If you don't know what your maximum heart rate is then get a proper heart rate monitor and get to work.
